## How We Use Text Messaging

Congregation of Moses uses text messaging to share timely, helpful information about specific programs and services. Participation is optional, and you are always in control of whether you receive messages.

### When you may receive text messages

You may choose to receive text messages from us when you register for certain events on our website. During online registration, you can enter your mobile phone number and check a box to give consent to receive event‑related texts, such as:

– Event reminders and start times
– Updates or changes to schedules or locations
– Important day‑of information (weather, parking, etc.)

We do not add you to a general marketing list when you provide consent for a specific event.

### How you give consent

On eligible event checkout pages, you will see an optional phone field and a consent checkbox. The checkbox text reads:

> “I agree to receive text messages from Congregation of Moses related to this event (reminders, updates, and schedule changes). Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe, HELP for help.”

To receive texts, you must both provide your mobile number and **manually** check this box. If you do not check the box, you will not receive text messages for that event.

A visual example of this consent option, taken from our event checkout page, is shown below:

### Event‑by‑event, time‑limited consent

Your consent is tied to the specific event for which you register:

– Opt‑in applies only to that event’s reminders and updates.
– After we send the final message related to that event and the event has concluded, we stop sending you texts for that event.
– To receive texts for a different event in the future, you will need to opt in again on that event’s registration form.

We do not reuse your event‑specific consent for other programs.

### How to opt out

You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying **STOP** to any message you receive from us. After you send STOP, we will no longer send you texts from that messaging program, unless you later choose to opt in again.

If you need assistance with our text messages, you can reply **HELP** to any message, or contact the synagogue office by phone or through the contact form on our website.

### Privacy and data use

We respect your privacy and use your mobile number only for the purposes you have consented to.
