Proposed Solar Array on CoM

Big news! In June, the Congregation of Moses Oversight Board approved the proposal for the installation of 98 solar panels on the synagogue roof. The solar array is planned for installation in 2027.

This is a very exciting advancement for CoM in terms of both fiscal and environmental sustainability. Solar power will reduce CoM's utility bills significantly and combat rising electricity costs. It will also increase our energy independence and honor our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint. On average, the solar array will provide more than 90% of CoM's electrical needs for the year. This reduction in energy use will offset approximately 40 tons of carbon dioxide annually, equivalent to more than 132,000 gallons of gasoline saved.

Because of a soon-to-expire federal incentive, the solar project will be purchased and installed at a 30% savings. A fundraiser will be required to pay for the project, although one-fourth of the funds have already been raised.
