A Busy and Exciting March for the Okun School

March 27, 2026

We’ve had an exciting few weeks in our school community!

Thank you to all of our incredible volunteers and attendees who made this year’s Purim Carnival such a fantastic event. From the creative and colorful costumes to the delicious desserts generously donated for the cake walk, the day was full of joy and celebration. Congratulations to everyone who went home with prizes—we hope you enjoyed them!

Our hearts were full as we watched our students shine on the bimah during the student-led Shabbat service. Each grade contributed beautifully through song and prayer, and their hard work and preparation were clearly evident. We are so proud of them! A special thank you as well to everyone who contributed dishes to the vegetarian potluck—it was a wonderful way to come together as a community after the service.

Our 4th–7th grade students participated in a creative and engaging mock Passover Seder led by Moreh Cary Mannaberg. Using a traditional Haggadah as a foundation, the Seder included a unique interactive element inspired by game-based storytelling. At key moments, students turned to special inserts that introduced a fun, role-playing style experience, adding an extra layer of excitement and participation to the learning.

We were delighted to have Michelle Miller-Adams lead a lively Israeli dance session for our students during Sunday Specials. They had a wonderful time learning steps, moving to music, and connecting with Israeli culture in such an engaging and joyful way.

Camp Keshet is expected to take place in late July and/or early August. Planning is already underway, and we appreciate your patience as details are finalized. More information will be shared in the coming weeks—stay tuned!

Thank you, as always, for your continued support and involvement in our vibrant school community.

Pesach Sameach (פֶּסַח שָׂמֵחַ) Happy Passover!
