Two of CoM’s Trustees passed away recently: Judy Davis on April 14, and Margaret Israelson on April 23. The Congregation of Moses mourns the loss of these special members.

Condolences on the death of Judy Davis can be sent to Al Rosenthal and Lis Davis. Condolences on the death of Margaret Israelson can be sent to her daughter Dara Israelson Finkelstein or The Finkelstein Family, 2509 Harptree Court Raleigh, NC 27613.

Tzedakah in memory of Margaret may be directed to Beth Meyer Synagogue, Transitions Hospice, and Congregation of Moses.

At CoM, both Judy and Margaret served many years as Board Members, Executive Committee Members, CoM Treasurers, and in other significant roles. They provided loving support to ailing members, welcomed potential new members, deepened many friendships through their participation in CoM chavurim and Jewish book groups, organized our religious services, supported our Religious School, worked in our kitchen and served as our ambassadors to non-Jewish visitors.

They both were active as Presidents of Sisterhood and in Hadassah and Federation. As Trustees and members, their good counsel, usually provided with a smile, was always appreciated. Judy continued to be as active as her health allowed during the last four years, while Margaret and Jehiel retained many friendships here after moving to North Carolina over two decades ago to be near their daughter’s family.
